New Materials for Membranes and Gas Turbines
Researchers are constantly developing new materials for the energy transition - that are more efficient, can store more energy and are increasingly powerful altogether. If gas turbines would be able to withstand higher temperatures, their emissions could be lowered. Membranes for fuel cells and the separations of hydrogen could be produced at a lower price. Two projects of the institute for energy and climate research at the Forschungszentrum Jülich will be funded by the Federal Minstry of Education and Research (BMBF) with 2.6 million euro.
